Rav David Lhungdim

​Rabbi David Lhungdim is the Founder and Chairman of Shivtei Menashe Organization. He is the Rabbi of the Bnei Menashe community of Sderot in Israel. Born in the Northeastern State of Manipur in India, he immigrated to Israel in 2007 under the auspicious of Shavei Israel. Rav David studied in Kollel Sharei Avraham and then studied under Rabbi Menakhem Gamliel Shlita, Rosh Kollel Minkhat Yehuda which was under the presidency of former Minister of Religious Affairs  Harav Hagaon Harav Aryeh Gamliel zt’l (of blessed memory) Head of Yeshivat Sderot. In 2013 he moved to Migdal HaEmek to take care of Olim Khadasim and studied in Kollel Ohel Ruth (Migdal Ohr) under the presidency of Harav HaGaon Rav Yitzkhak David Grossman and then return to Sderot in 2014 and continue studying under Harav Menakhem Gamliel. He became Kehilat Rav (Community Rabbi) under the blessing of his mentor and his rabbi, HaRav Menakhem Gamliel Shlita and Harav Aryeh Gamliel zt’l (of blessed memory), President of Yeshivat Sderot. In addition, Rav David Lhungdim received a Certificate of Acknowledgement from “Kenes Hayesod, Irgun Rabbanei Kehiloth in Israel under Moatzet Khokmei HaTorah” (Council of Sephardic Religious Sages). He is also a teacher and vivid research scholar and is the author of the book, Menashe-Manmasi: The Lost Tribe of Menashe.
